About me
Shortly after leaving school i when to work for Lloyds banks as a office counter clerk where i stayed until i left to start a family, In 1986 i when back to work full time as a administrator for carpetright, over the years i worked my way up to branch manager and i stayed at carpetright until i moved to Spain in 2001.
In 2001 we purchased a bar in the Spanish square in Santa Ponsa, after a fantastic few months we decided to purchase another and within the first three years we owned four bars and a frozen food shop. All of the businesses was very successful. in 2012 we sold the bars/Restaurants and made the move back to the UK. In 2012 we took on the Golden Cross and a few months after the Sportsman.
After Marston's sold the bar we took on the Fordge Mill in Headless cross and turned it into a carvery house. this was also very successful , that much so that of the back of this we got offered three dementia cafe's and the Royal oak in Studley. In 2019 after being diagnosed breast cancer we decided to move back to Spain where we purchased a Freehold bar and two Restaurants. We currently still own the businesses in Spain and they are now rented to tenants.

My experience when at the Norton Grange
Experience with the team - On the 4th May we reserved a table online, Our table was booked and we was look forward to a beautiful roast dinner. We walked in and we was unfortunately extremely disappointed.
The one member of staff started to serve us and realised her friend just walked in so she ran off and left us, after finishing her conversation she come back, we told her we had a table booked, she had no record of it, she ran off again to find us a table, in the mean time a young lad decided to serve us to some drinks, I asked him why there was no Carvery out and the reply i got was we just ran out of food. We took our drinks and asked again if we had a table, The young girl showed us to the table, Didn't advise if it was table service or we had to order at the bar and walked off. After being sat down for a good 30 minuites and listening to the table next door complaining about the food we decided to eat wasn't a good idea and we left to go to find another restaurant. The service was shocking.
Was there music on - No, No music at all the atmosphere was really bad.
Was it clean & Tidy - The Restaurant itself and the toilets was very clean and tidy
Was the Staff Polite, Efficient - I wouldn't say they wasn't polite just very unexperienced and not efficient in the slightest.
were you acknowledged leaving ? - No
Score 1-10 - I would give it a 3

Day Planner
All pubs are quite during the days but as soon as you put a menu into the mix there is no reason at all not to have bums on seats.
In addition to the fantastic menu we would also put on day events like ladies that brunch, Coffee mornings and mother and tot play dates.

Weekday nights
Sometimes its the simple things that work the best so we believe that putting together a Pool team and joining a league will work well, The same with the Darts, Dominos and Poker. The Quiz must run without any changes.
Weekends
With a good amount of the population being aged between 40 and 65 we believe that live acts every Friday night should go down a storm . We would be looking on putting on act that are appealing to them age group.
For example - Rod Stewart, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Adele, Teddy Swims, Ollie Murrs, Cheer. We also believe a drag act and a comedian would work really well on a Friday night.
On a Saturday night we would like to introduce a Live lounge for semi professional singers, Comedians and Magicians. We do know lots of professionals that are looking for exposure and we will use this to our advantage
And last but not least on a Sunday we would like to introduce a saxaphone player

Extra Revenue
When viewing the pub we was blown away by the side room that wasn't in use. (The Old wacky warehouse) We think that this would be amazing to host a Artisan market in for the locals.
